Box Score

CARSON, Calif. - Western Washington University gave up two goals in the first 24 minutes and never recovered as it fell 3-0 to nationally ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills in a non-league men's soccer game Monday at Toro Field.

Cal State Dominguez Hills, rated No.15 in the NSCAA/adidas/NCAA Division II Preseason Poll, improved to 2-0. Western fell to 0-2.

"They're a very good team and we've got to play our best game to compete with them, and we didn't do that today," said Western coach Travis Connell. "They were very dominant, but we did have a few chances late."

Francisco Corona began the scoring with a blast from 30 yards out in the sixth minute, Jason Koza getting the assist. Eighteen minutes later, Corona was credited with the assist as Kei Kamara scored on a shot to the far post.

Carmelo Terranova completed the scoring in the 64 minute, heading in a cross from Mike Jimenez.

Cal State Dominguez Hills had a 16-8 shot advantage, and an 8-5 edge in corner kicks.

Western completes its six-day road trip to southern California on Wednesday (3 p.m.), meeting Cal Poly Pomona.
