Shortly before the Western Washington University football team opened training camp, Robin Ross was asked about the upcoming season. It took only a few words for the new head coach to sum things up.

"To be honest, I really don't know what to expect," Ross said.

Neither does anybody else.

The Vikings enter the 2006 season without a map, not exactly lost at sea, but certainly in uncharted waters.
