BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Five members of the Western Washington University women's rowing team have been named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar Athletes.

The Viking honorees are Emily Bartlett (So., Broadlands, VA/Thomas Jefferson S&T), Kristin Foster (Jr., San Ramon, CA/California), Katya Hewitt (So., Bellingham), Megan Marler (Jr., Morrison, CO/D'Evelyn) and Molly Ware (So., Olympia).

Bartlett, Foster, Hewitt and Marler were seated in WWU's varsity eight shell, and Ware was in the varsity four.

Bartlett is an art studio major with a 3.80 (4.0 scale) grade point average. Foster is a visual journalism major with a 3.64 GPA, Hewitt a kinesiology major with a 3.59 GPA, Marler is a kinesiology major with a 3.62 GPA; and Ware, who has yet to declare a major, has a 3.58 GPA.
