SEATTLE, Wash. - The Western Washington University Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field squad had a small group of athletes compete in the first day of the 2016 UW Indoor Classic held at the Dempsey Indoor Track.
Sophomore pole vaulter J.T. Konrad (Mead, WA/Mount Spokane) finished 3rd in the pole vault clearing 4.63m (15-02 ¼), just off his career high of 4.68m (15-4 ¼) set last season. Junior Gordie Kordas (Blaine, WA) finished 8th in the pole vault.
Sophomore Isaac Derline competed in the highly competitive 5000m race, placing 57th with a time of 14:43.45.
Full results from the five WWU competitors are listed below. A group of WWU jumpers (high jump, triple jump) are scheduled to compete tomorrow in the second day of the UW Classic. Several Vikings will compete in the UW Open Sunday in Seattle.
