Feb. 13, 2016

Box Score - Dixie State | Box Score - Cal Baptist

ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Western Washington University Vikings felt the pain and the joy of a walk-off hit Saturday in the second day of the Dixie State Softball Tournament.

The Vikings beat Cal Baptist 6-5 in the second game of the day, scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, capped by a walk-off single by senior right fielder Alexie Levin (Everett, WA).

WWU lost in heart-breaking fashion to No. 2 Dixie State 4-3, allowing a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 8th inning in the first game of the day.

"We put ourselves in position to win each game, and that's all you can ask from the team," said head coach Amy Suiter. "It would have been nice to get two wins, but the team played hard and never quit."

Western completes play in the Dixie State Tournament tomorrow at 12:30 pm MT/11:30 am PT against Hawai'i Hilo.
