Feb. 5, 2016 Meet Results
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Western Washington University Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field program had several athletes compete in the TrackTown USA High Performance Meet #4 at the House of Track in Portland.
Notable performances from WWU included the following (full results below):
- 60m Hurdles (Men): Travis Milbrandt (Sr., Longview, WA/Mark Morris) won the 60m hurdles in 8.14 (ran 8.13 in prelims). The 8.13 is a season-best and is closing in on his school and GNAC record of 8.08 set last season.
- 60m (Men): Alex Donigian (Mission Viejo, CA/Trabuco Hills/Saddleback JC/N. Colorado) ran unattached since his indoor eligibility has expired (will be a senior during the outdoor season), but won the 60m in an impressive time of 6.77...Stedman Knox (Fr., Bothell, WA/Cedar Park Christian) also competed clocking a 7.25.
- Shot Put (Women): Megan Mortensen (Jr., Tacoma, WA/Franklin Pierce) finished 2nd with a throw of 12.66m (41-6 ½), just below her school-record of 12.69m set last week at the UW Invite.
- 400m (Women): Gracia Reynolds (So., Portland, OR/St. Mary's) placed 11th with a PR 59.15, the 7th-fastest mark in school indoor history...Savannah Smith (Fr., Renton, WA) was 12th in 59.47, 10th-fastest in school history.
- 4x400 (Women): Relay team of Savannah Smith, Gracia Reynolds, Deja Svastisalee (So., Spokane, WA/North Central) and Raigan Page (Fr., Ridgefield, WA) placed 2nd in 4:01.51, 9th-fastest in school history.
The Vikings continue the indoor season next weekend with the two-day Husky Classic (Friday-Saturday, Feb. 12-13) and the UW Open (Sunday, Feb. 14) at the Dempsey Indoor Center in Seattle. The GNAC Indoor Championships will be held Feb. 19-20 in Nampa, Idaho.
