Box Score| Game Book
The Vikings gave up a single run in the first inning, but that was all starting pitcher Makinlee Sellevold would allow in her complete-game victory in a 2-1 10-inning victory over the Saints.
SMU scored its only run on a single by Kim Nelson in the 1st inning, a play that eventually resulted in a 9-2-4 double play.
The Vikings tied the game in the 5th inning on a single up the middle by junior second baseman Kali Patterson. Sellevold led off the inning with a single up the middle, and pinch-runner Taylor Peacocke (Kenmore, WA/Inglemoor) moved to second on a sac bunt and scored on Patterson's single.
The game remained knotted through the 9th inning before the Vikings struck with the go-ahead run in the 10th inning. Patterson was placed on second to begin the inning due to the international tiebreaker rule. She moved to third base on a sac bunt by senior center fielder Arianna Barrio (Stanwood, WA/Lakewood) and scored on a sac fly by senior right fielder Alexie Levin (Everett, WA)
SMU threatened to tie the game in the bottom of the 10th placing a runner on third base, but Sellevold got out of the jam to earn the complete-game victory to improve to 4-4 on the season.
The Vikings out-hit the Saints 10-4, led by multi-hit games from Sellevold (2-for-4), Patterson (2-for-5, R, RBI) and sophomore first baseman Emily Benson (2-for-5).
