April 16, 2016 LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Western Washington University Track & Field team wrapped up a busy weekend competing in The Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif. A few athletes also competed in the final day of the Mt. Sac Relays in Norwalk, Calif., and the Oregon Relays in Eugene, Ore.
Senior sprinter Alex Donigian (Mission Viejo, CA/Trabuco Hills/Saddleback JC/Northern Colorado) capped a solid weekend clocking a wind-legal PR of 10.35 in the elite 100m dash at the Mt. Sac Relays. Donigian set the WWU and GNAC record in the 200m Friday at the Bryan Clay Invitational in 20.93.
Senior Travis Milbrandt (Longview, WA/Mark Morris) recorded a season-best 14.41 in the 100m Hurdles while finishing 9th at The Beach Invitational.
In the pole vault sophomore J.T. Konrad (Spokane, WA/Mt. Spokane) finished 24th clearing 4.73m (15' 6.25") for the 8th-best mark in school history.
Sophomore Deja Svastisalee (Spokane, WA/North Central) placed 39th in the 400m Hurdles, finishing in 1:03.44 for the 9th-fastest time in program history.
