April 2, 2016 AUSTIN, Texas - Western Washington senior sprinter Alex Donigian (Mission Viejo, CA/Trabuco Hills/Saddleback JC/Northern Colorado) finished 7th in the 100m dash in a wind-aided time of 10.33 at the prestigious Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Donigian clocked a season-best time in the star-studded field that was won by Clemson senior Tevin Hester in a meet and stadium record 9.99 seconds.
One of the premier Track & Field events in the nation, the four-day attendance of the meet was 43,085, including 21,006 on Saturday.
DRAKE WINS JAVELIN AT BOBCAT INVITATIONAL
Drake takes over NCAA II national lead with throw of 166' 9"
SAN MARCOS, Texas - Western Washington junior Bethany Drake won the Javelin throw at the Bobcat Invitational Saturday with a throw of 50.83m (166' 9").
Drake (Sandy, OR) notched a season-best throw and took back the Division II lead over Estefania Lopez of Fort Hays State (50.63m/166' 1"). The throw bettered her previous season best of 50.29m (165') set Thursday at the Texas Relays in Austin, and is just under her school record mark of 51.66m (169' 6") set in 2014.
Teammate Katie Reichert (Sr., Longview, WA/Kelso) finished 3rd with a throw of 42.20m (138' 5") and Anosi Laupola (Fr., Port Orchard, WA/South Kitsap) was 6th with a mark of 40.82m (133' 11").
Junior Jasmine McMullin (Sequim, WA) finished tied for 8th in the Triple Jump with a PR of 12.08m (39' 7.75"). The jump improves the 2nd-best mark she already holds in WWU history and is approaching the school record of 12.37m (40' 7") set by Emily Warman in 2012.
Also competing in the Bobcat Invitational were the following Vikings:
- John Haskin - 2nd place in the Javelin (58.83m/193') - NCAA II provisional mark
- Travis Milbrandt - 4th in the 110m Hurdles in 14.42 - Ties season-best mark

WWU distance runners lead the way in meet in Lacey
LACEY, Wash. - Several Western Washington University athletes turned in solid performances at the Saint Martin's Track & Field Invite held Saturday at the SMU Field.
The Vikings dominated the women's 800m race with five racers finishing in the top 10. Junior Shawna Troupe (Kelso, WA) won the event in 2:15.11, setting a PR and improving her 9th-best mark in WWU history.
Junior Brittany Grant (Port Townsend, WA) won the 5,000m in 17:34.14, the 8th-best time in school history.
On the men's side freshman Alexander Barry (Sequim, WA) finished 2nd in the Javelin with a throw of 59.65m (195' 8"), 10th-best in WWU history and an NCAA II provisional mark.
Also winning events on the women's squad were freshman Cheyenne Konrad (Spokane, WA/Mt. Spokane) in the 400m (59.05), senior Taylor Guenther (Vancouver, WA/Prairie) in the 1,500m (4:39.52), junior Megan Mortensen (Tacoma, WA/Franklin Pierce) in the discus (43.81m/143' 8").
The men were paced by event victories by junior Ryan McArthur (Lynwood, WA) in the 400m (49.12), freshman Keaton Spiller (Vancouver, WA/Heritage) in the 800m (1:56.83), senior Matt Lutz (Bremerton, WA) in the 3,000m Steeplechase (9:34.23) and junior Gordie Kordas (Blaine, WA) in the Pole Vault (4.60m/15' 1").
