May 26, 2016 BRADENTON, Fla. â€" The Western Washington University Track & Field program opened competition at the 2016 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Senior Alex Donigian (Mission Viejo, CA/Trabuco Hills/Saddleback JC/Northern Colorado) placed 10th in the 100m prelims in 10.49, just missing qualification for the finals in the event. Donigian earns second-team All-America honors. Donigian finished 3rd (2015) and 5th (2014) in his previous trips to the outdoor nationals.
Senior Matt Lutz (Bremerton, WA/Olympic) placed 18th in the men's 3,000m steeplechase in 9:32.10.
Junior Brittany Grant (Port Townsend, WA) was 20th in the women's 3,000m steeplechase finishing in 10:54.90.
