"The day went well...what we had (at the Sundodger) ran well, and I was real pleased with Peyton (Shinnick) and Sophia (Galvez) - those two freshmen ran real well," said 30th-year head coach Pee Wee Halsell. "And Logan Giese, I was real pleased with his effort. I see some areas that can come up...I think it bodes well for the end of the season."
The Vikings will compete in two locations next weekend. WWU will be in action at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minn., as well as the Saint Martin's Invite in Lacey, Wash.
"I'm real excited about next week, taking that top (WWU) group to mix it up with some people from different parts of the country should be fun and exciting, as well as to see the people at Saint Martin's next week," Halsell said.
Both meets will be held next Saturday, Sept. 24. The Roy Griak Invitational begins at 9:50 am (CT) while the Saint Martin's Invite starts at 10 am (PT).
