SEATTLE, Wash. - Senior Brittany Grant improved her NCAA II provisional qualifying time in the 3,000m as the Western Washington University track & field program competed at the second day of the Husky Classic on Saturday at the Dempsey Indoor Center on the campus of the University of Washington.
Grant (Distance, Port, Townsend, WA) placed 65th with a time of 9:54.97 in a 3,000m race composed primarily of NCAA Division I runners, improving upon her previous personal-best time of 9:56.22 set at the UW Indoor Preview on Jan. 14. Her time ranks 3rd on the all-time WWU indoor top 10, as well as 4th in the GNAC and 28th nationally this season.
Only three WWU competitors were in action Saturday. WWU competes at UW again on Sunday during the UW Open, which is set to begin at 9 am and continue through the last scheduled event at 4:55 pm.
