HONOLULU, Hawai'i - Freshman starting pitcher Anna Kasner threw a complete game, 1-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts in her collegiate debut and added three scoreless innings of relief with 6 strikeouts in the second game as the Western Washington University softball team split a doubleheader against Chaminade on Sunday at McKinley High School.

Her single-game strikeout total is also tied for 4th in WWU program history for a 7-inning regulation game (without extra innings).

A 4th-inning leadoff single was the lone hit for Chaminade in the first game. Kasner allowed only 1 walk and hit a batter with a pitch in the 96-pitch complete game. She retired each batter she faced during her relief appearance in the second game, concluding the day with 19 strikeouts and 1 hit allowed over 10 innings pitched.
