Head coach Amy Suiter earned her 200th career coaching victory (185th victory at WWU) with the win over Concordia in game one before picking up win No. 201 during game two. Prior to the start of the doubleheader, WWU honored senior second baseman Kali Patterson (Bonney Lake, WA) and senior catcher Mackenzie Hughes (Ellensburg, WA) with a Senior Day ceremony.

The Vikings have 6 regular-season games remaining as they compete for a top-4 finish in the GNAC standings to secure a GNAC Championships berth. Central Washington leads the conference standings with a 19-3 GNAC record while Saint Martin's (12-8 GNAC), WWU (13-9 GNAC), Northwest Nazarene (13-11 GNAC) and Western Oregon (11-11 GNAC) compose the top 5 teams in the standings following Sunday's action.

WWU closes out its regular-season home schedule on Tuesday, hosting Simon Fraser for a doubleheader beginning at 1 pm. Tuesday's games are the result of a rescheduled rainout from earlier in the season. The Vikings finish the regular season with a pair of doubleheaders at Northwest Nazarene on Friday and Saturday.

GAME 1 // WWU 6, CONCORDIA 4 Box Score & Play-by-Play

WWU broke a tie with 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning and held off Concordia for a 6-4 victory in game one of Sunday's doubleheader.

Makinlee Sellevold gave WWU a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning with a 2-RBI double to right-center field. She then hit a 2-out, solo home run to left field in the 3rd inning, her 5th home run of the season, for a 3-0 lead.

Concordia answered in the top of the 5th inning to tie the game, plating 3 runs with a 2-out rally. After consecutive 2-out singles, Meghan Luebbert delivered an RBI double before Kelsie Merritt sent a 2-RBI single to left field to tie the game.

The Vikings countered in the bottom half of the 5th inning to take a 6-3 lead, highlighted by a 2-out, 2-RBI single from Anna Kasner. Consecutive 1-out singles from Sarah Morrow and Sellevold put runners on base before a wild pitch allowed Morrow to score. After junior first baseman Emily Benson (West Richland, WA/Kamiakin) walked and advanced to second base with a groundout, Kasner delivered a single up the middle for the 6-3 lead.

The Cavaliers recorded three consecutive hits to begin the 6th inning and quickly plate a run. With the bases loaded and 1 out, starting pitcher Shearyna Labasan induced consecutive grounders to escape further damage and maintain the lead. The Vikings recorded a force out at home plate with a ground ball hit back to Labasan before junior shortstop Cylie Richards (Kennewick, WA/Kamiakin) fielded a grounder hit to her right and threw to third base for the final out of the frame.

Sellevold went 3-for-3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs. Kasner was 1-for-3 with a career-high tying 2 RBI while Morrow was 1-for-4 with 2 runs. Benson walked 3 times and scored a run while Labasan went 1-for-3 with a run and a walk.

Tenli Petty (2-for-3), Macy Besuyen (2-for-3, R) and Rylleigh Zbaraschuk (2-for-3, R) all recorded multi-hit games for Concordia as the Cavaliers out-hit WWU, 11-6.

GAME 2 // WWU 12, CONCORDIA 4 (5 INN.) Box Score & Play-by-Play

After building an early 4-2 lead, WWU pulled away from Concordia with an 8-run 3rd inning en route to a 12-4 mercy-rule victory during Sunday's second game.

The Vikings built a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning, loading the bases as Shearyna Labasan led off with a double before Makinlee Sellevold and Emily Benson were both hit by pitches. Carlie Richards delivered a bases-loaded, 2-RBI double to right-center field and Anna Kasner added an RBI groundout later in the inning for the 3-0 lead.

The Cavaliers came within 3-2 during the top of the 2nd inning with a sacrifice fly from Meghan Luebbert and a 2-out RBI triple from Kelsie Merritt after the first two runners of the inning had reached base via a double and a walk.

Sellevold gave WWU a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning with a bases-loaded, 1-out RBI single to score freshman shortstop Paityn Cyr (Mount Vernon, WA). The Cavaliers escaped further damage in the inning by recording consecutive outs with the bases loaded after Sellevold's hit, but the WWU offense struck again an inning later to plate 8 runs.

The first seven batters to the plate reached safely for WWU in the 3rd inning. An RBI double from Mackenzie Hughes brought home the first run of the inning. After a wild pitch scored another run for a 6-2 lead, a 2-run home run to right-center field by Cyr, her 4th home run of the season, built the lead to 8-2. Sellevold and Carlie Richards each had RBI singles during the inning and Kasner scored another run with a sacrifice fly. A passed ball helped account for another run as the Vikings sent 12 batters to the plate and totaled 5 hits and 3 walks in the frame.

The Cavaliers plated 2 runs in the top of the 4th inning, recording 2 hits and taking advantage of a defensive miscue by WWU. But consecutive strikeouts ended the inning with runners on third base and first base before a 1-2-3 5th inning closed out the victory.

Labasan (3-for-3, 2 R, BB), Sellevold (2-for-2, 2 RBI, 2 R) and Carlie Richards (2-for-3, 3 RBI, R) had multi-hit games for the Vikings. Kasner was 1-for-2 with 2 RBI and a run while Cyr was 1-for-2 with a walk, 2 RBI and 2 runs. Labasan tied her single-game career high for hits for the second day in a row while Richards and Kasner each tied their respective career highs for RBI in a game.

Merritt went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI to lead the Cavaliers.

Sellevold improved to 3-7, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits over 5.0 innings pitched. She totaled 6 strikeouts and 5 walks in the outing. Jessica Lambourn (3-11) took the loss for the Cavaliers, allowing 7 runs over 2.0 innings pitched.
