The 4x400 relay team of, Mark Daniels, Myles Smith, Jon Oglesby and Bryant Welch recorded the 3rd-fastest time in WWU history
SEATTLE, Wash. – The Western Washington University Track & Field program put in its final prep work prior to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championships next week with a small group of Vikings competing on Saturday at the Husky Classic in Dempsey Indoor.
The men's 4x400 relay team of
Bryant Welch,
Mark Daniels,
Jon Oglesby and
Myles Smith finished 2
nd in 3:17.49 for the 3
rd-fastest time in WWU indoor history. The time is the fastest by nearly two seconds amongst GNAC teams this season.
Junior
Ben Malquist finished 11
th in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 15.94m/52-3.75 to move into a tie for 5
th place in the WWU indoor record book.
Senior
Bryan Lee highlighted the Vikings performances on Friday setting the school record in the weight throw with a mark of 17.78m/58-4, obtaining an NCAA II provisional qualifying mark.

WWU now turns its attention to the 2020 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships that will be held next week, Feb. 21-22, at Jacksons Indoor Track in Nampa, Idaho. The WWU men's team is the defending conference indoor and outdoor champions (while also holding the cross country team title.).
