BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University volleyball student-athletes Calley Heilborn and Chloe Roetcisoender have been rewarded for their hard work in the classroom and on the court.
 
The Viking duo were among eight selections to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 team, with WWU and Alaska Anchorage each landing a pair of players on the elite list. The Great Northwest Athletic Conference dominated the selections with five players earning academic all-district honors.
 
Roetcisoender (Duvall, WA/Cedar Park Christian) became a two-time member of the Academic All-District team after also earning the award in 2019. The middle carries a 3.92 GPA as she pursues a degree in Elementary Education. On the court, Roetcisoender is averaging 1.15 blocks per set, while also tallying 1.98 kills per set on a .306 hitting percentage.
 
Heilborn (Auburn, WA/Auburn Riverside) has a 3.79 GPA as a Behavioral Neuroscience major. The outside hitter has been stellar on the court recording a double-double (kills-digs) in 18 of 24 matches. She is averaging 3.26 kills, 4.21 digs and 3.90 points per set to rank amongst the GNAC and West Region leaders.
 
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
