BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University Track & Field continues its early-season indoor schedule with a selection of student-athletes competing in The Spokane Invitational on Saturday.
 
Ten WWU competitors will help open the state-of-the-art The Podium in Spokane, a dedicated indoor track & field venue that will host several world-class meets including the 2022 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championships and the 2022 USATF Indoor Championships.
 
The group of Vikings includes nine men's distance runners and women's sophomore thrower Katie Potts.
 
Here is a look at the entries for WWU in the meet that is scheduled to start Saturday at 9 am:

  Five Vikings competed in the Candy Cane Multis hosted by Eastern Washington University in Cheney. Aliyah Dawkins and Cooper Cummings swept the first GNAC T&F Athlete of the Week awards for the 2021-22 indoor season. Dawkins placed 2nd out of seven competitors in the five-event Pentathlon (3,237 points) and Cummings was also runner-up in the seven-event Heptathlon out of 13 athletes (4,300 points).
