BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University junior midfielder
Tera Ziemer has been selected as a Second Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches.
Ziemer (Santa Rosa, CA) scored six goals and tallied six assists in her first year at Western after transferring from Texas A&M. The midfielder appeared in 20 of 23 games for the Vikings, helping lead WWU to a 15-5-3 record and a sixth consecutive trip to the NCAA West Regional Championship Game.
She started her WWU career in grand fashion with four goals in her first four games, including a brace in her debut vs. Adams State. She also had a strong finish tying the single-game program record with three assists in the GNAC semifinal victory over Northwest Nazarene.
In addition to the second-team All-America honor, Ziemer was a consensus first-team All-West Region selection, the GNAC Newcomer of the year and a first-team all-conference award winner.
Here is a list of all the WWU players that have earned All-America honors from United Soccer Coaches (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America – NSCAA). Ziemer becomes the 14th player and 16th selection all-time by a WWU player on the United Soccer Coaches All-America team.
