BELLINGHAM, Wash.  – Western Washington University senior midfielder Drew Farnsworth became a consensus All-West Region player, earning third-team honors from the United Soccer Coaches.
 
Farnsworth (Auckland, New Zealand) was earlier voted a First Team All-West Region selection by the D2CCA in a vote of the region's sports information directors.
 
The senior midfielder capped a strong collegiate career leading the Vikings in 2021 with seven goals and 17 points. He ranked 4th in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) in both points and total goals, and tied for 5th with a pair of game-winning goals. The co-captain started all 17 games helping lead the Vikings to a 7-8-2 overall record and a third-place finish at 5-3-2 (17 points) in the GNAC.
 
This marks the 12th All-West Region selection by the WWU men's soccer program dating back to the 2016 season, with at least one player honored by the United Soccer Coaches in each of the last five seasons.
 
In his WWU career that spanned five seasons (2017-21), Farnsworth tied the all-time program record with 74 games played and with his 74 starts the most by a position player. He scored 16 career goals to tie for 13th-most in Western history and 43 points are No. 14 in the program record book. Farnsworth was a three-time All-GNAC selection, earning honorable mention honors in 2018 and 2019, and was a unanimous first-team pick in 2021.
 
Farnsworth was one of eight GNAC players voted to the All-West Region squad, with Seattle Pacific senior forward Alex Mejia a first-team selection.
