BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A pair of Western Washington University volleyball players swept the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards for competition held April 12-18.

Calley Heilborn was selected as the GNAC Offensive Player of the Week and junior middle
Olivia Fairchild received the Defensive Player of the Week honor.
The duo helped lead the Vikings to a perfect 3-0 record over Western Oregon in matches played Friday and Saturday in Carver Gym to open the abbreviated 2020-21 season.
Heilborn, a Third Team AVCA All-American as a redshirt freshman in 2019, averaged 4.00 kills per set on a .371 hitting percentage in the three matches. Heilborn recorded a pair of double-doubles, also averaging 4.44 digs per set over the weekend and added four service aces and five total blocks. She is now a four-time GNAC Player of the Week in her career, tied for sixth most by a Viking in a career.
Fairchild had a breakout weekend starting all three matches vs. Western Oregon, averaging 2.22 blocks per set. Her standout defensive play included a 10-block performance in the weekend finale vs. Western Oregon. She also averaged 2.11 kills per set while hitting at a .311 clip.
