GAME 2 – WWU 3, NNU 2 (5 innings)
The Vikings defeated Northwest Nazarene 3-2 in a game shortened to 5 innings due to darkness.
WWU scored a pair of runs in the top of the 1st inning to grab the early lead, with Brooke Fesenbek plating the first run with a single to center field and Lauren Lo adding a run on a sacrifice fly.
NNU tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning on a solo home run by Madison Strickler and a run-scoring double by Madison Felter.
The game remained scoreless until the 5th inning when WWU junior shortstop Tatum Dow hit a leadoff home run to left-center field for her fifth homer of the season.
WWU added a pair of would-be insurance runs in the top of the 6th inning on a RBI double by Chantelle Shimabukuro and a run-scoring single by Dow, but those runs (or stats) did not count as the game was halted due to darkness.
Junior Kira Doan recorded the win in the circle allowing one run in 3.2 innings of relief to improve to 7-6 on the season.
After having her 12-game hitting streak snapped in Saturday's opener, Dow bounced back going 2-for-2 with a run scored and RBI.
