CORVALLIS, Ore. – Western Washington University senior Eric Hamel finished 16^th in the 10,000m at the OSU High Performance Meet Friday evening at Whyte Track and Field Center.
 
Hamel was looking to improve his season and personal-best time in the event at the Division I meet, but fell short of his goal finishing in 31:04.54. The senior from Enumclaw recorded the 6^th-fastest time in WWU history earlier this season clocking 30:17.34 at the Ed Boitano Invitational on March 26.
 
Former Viking Ed Kiolbasa, now running for the University of San Francisco, placed 6^th in the race in a personal-best time of 29:43.28. Gonzaga's Peter Hogan won the event finishing in 28:53.70.
  The Vikings host their second home meet of the season tomorrow with the 39^th Annual Ralph Vernacchia Track & Field Meet at Civic Stadium in Bellingham.
