VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Western Washington University rowing program raced in the inaugural Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships held Saturday on Vancouver Lake.
WWU placed 3rd in both the Varsity 4+ and Varsity 8+ races, with Central Oklahoma taking first and Seattle Pacific second in both events.
Racing in just its third regatta of the abbreviated season, the Vikings clocked their fastest time of the season in the eights covering the 2,000m course in 7:01.809. UCO finished in 6:29.850 and SPU was 2nd in 6:50.572.
In the fours UCO won in a time of 7:42.947, edging SPU (7:44.935) to sweep the two main events. WWU was 3rd in 8:21.575. Humboldt State was entered in the event, but were scratched prior to the race.
