BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University junior shortstop Tatum Dow was selected as a Second Team All-American by the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association).

Dow becomes the second NFCA All-American in program history, joining Emily Benson who was a second-team selection following her senior season in 2019. Overall she is the fourth All-American in the 29-year history of the WWU softball program, also joining catcher Andie Greenen (1999, Easton All-America Second Team) and outfielder Jessi Williams (2000, Easton All-America Third Team).

The Issaquah native and product of Bellevue College completed her junior season for the GNAC Tournament champion Vikings batting .417 (48-for-115) with 26 runs scored, 7 doubles, 6 home runs, 26 RBI and a 1.116 OPS (.635 SLG, .481 OBP). She started all 37 games at shortstop and recorded the sixth-highest single-season batting average in WWU history.

Dow recorded at least one hit in 28 of 37 games, with 14 multi-hit games and six multi-RBI performances. She had a season-high 12-game hitting streak March 13-April 23 and reached base safely in 21 consecutive games March 6-April 23.

In addition to earning the NFCA Second Team All-America honor, Dow was also a First Team All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference pick and a consensus First Team West Region selection by the NFCA and D2CCA. Additionally, Dow carries a 3.90 GPA while pursuing her degree physical education and health to earn GNAC All-Academic honors. As a sophomore at Bellevue College in 2019, Dow earned NFCA All-America honors for the junior college level after batting .515 (87-for-169) with 17 home runs and 85 RBI in 49 games.

The NFCA All-America teams are voted on by the Association's All-America Committees. In Division II, the committee is comprised of one member head coach from each of the NCAA's eight regions. All student-athletes that were voted to the first- and second-team All-Region teams were eligible for All-America consideration.
