SEATTLE, Wash. – Another day and more school records and program top-10 marks were obtained by the Western Washington University Track & Field team at the UW Invitational at Dempsey Indoor.
Junior
Mac Franks broke his own school record in the 800m placing fifth out of 28 runners in 1:51.47, moving up to No. 6 in GNAC history and likely inside the NCAA Division II top 10. Franks was also a member of the school-record breaking distance medley relay Friday night and earlier this season obtained the WWU indoor record in the 3,000m.
Junior
Ethan Sterkel won the long jump while equaling his school-record and No. 4 mark in GNAC history with a leap of 7.25m/23.9.5.
The men's 4x400 relay team of
Bryant Welch,
Mark Daniels,
Brian Le and
Jaden Edwards placed 2nd in 3:21.94 behind the University of Washington, recording the No. 10 time in program history.
Junior
Noah Johnson qualified for the finals in the 60m dash, placing 6th in 7.06 seconds to tie for 10th-best in WWU history.
Freshman
Mia Crocker highlighted the women's performance setting a PR in the 800m in 2:18.89 to move up to No. 6 in WWU indoor history. Sophomore
Lannie Lyamba had a solid mark setting a PR in the triple jump at 10.76m/35-3.75 to just miss entering the WWU top-10 list. Sophomore
Katie Potts set an indoor PR in the shot put with a throw of 11.87m/38-11.5 to remain No. 6 in school history.
