WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – Fueled by a 5-under-par round from senior Jordan Lee, the No. 7 nationally-ranked Western Washington University men's golf team holds the lead through the first round of the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate.

The Vikings fired a team round of 1-over-par 281 on the par 70 Waikoloa Beach Course on Friday and will take a two-stroke lead over tournament host Hawai'i Hilo and Sonoma State into the final round.

Lee had a torrid first 18 holes of the 36-hole tournament recording six birdies and one bogey for his 5-under-par 65. Lee's six birdies were tied for the most amongst the 88-player field.
