BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University freshman
Emma Worgum has been selected as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week for events held October 24-30.
Worgum recorded a pair of top-20 finishes during the final week of the fall portion of the 2022-23 season, tying for 16th place at the HPU Sharks Shootout and tying for second at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate. In four rounds during the Hawai'i trip Worgum recorded a scoring average of 73.5.
The La Conner native fired a 3-under-par 69 in the opening round of the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate tied for the second-lowest round in program history and tied for 3rd-lowest in GNAC history.
In five fall tournaments Worgum led the Vikings and the GNAC with a scoring average of 76.40 (+4.40 to par).
Worgum joins teammates
Megan Billeter (Sept. 19-25) and
Claire Moon (Oct. 10-16) as Vikings that have earned GNAC Golfer of the Week honors this season.
