ALLENDALE, Mich. – Three members of the Western Washington University Track & Field team competed Thursday during the opening day of the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the Grand Valley State University campus.
Senior
Calahan Warren qualified for the finals of the 1500m for the second consecutive year with the sixth-best prelim time of 3:43.68. Warren will look to earn All-America honors once again after placing 6th in the same event at the same venue in 2021. He will race in Saturday's finals set to start at 11:25 am PT/2:25 pm ET.
Junior
Mac Franks just missed out on a spot in the finals of the 1500m placing 13th in a time of 3:47.58. Franks placed 5th in the first heat, just missing one of the automatic qualifying spots, but was edged out on earning one of the 12 sports for the finals. Franks concluded his illustrious WWU career setting school outdoor records in the 1500m (3:42.22), Mile (4:03.64) and Steeplechase (8:52.50).
Freshman
Ila Davis also just missed out on a spot in the finals placing 13th in the 3,000m Steeplechase in a time of 10:36.24. Davis ran the second-fastest time of her collegiate career, falling just short of the 10:31.55 clocked winning the GNAC Championships for the second-fastest time in WWU history.

Drew Weber competing in the prelims of the 800m beginning at 6 pm ET/3 pm PT.
