Mia Crocker Nabs GNAC Runner of Week Honor

Mia Crocker earned her second GNAC Track Athlete of the Week award in 2022

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University freshman distance runner Mia Crocker has been selected as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week award for competition held April 25-May 1.
 
Crocker won the mile at the Ralph Vernacchia Invitational in a school-record time of 4:52.95. Her converted time of 4:31.25 for 1,500 meters is an NCAA Championships provisional qualifying mark and ranks No. 47 in Division II this season. Her time in the mile bettered the previous school record of 4:58.66 set by Katelyn Steen in 2014.
 
This is the second GNAC weekly honor for Crocker this season, also winning the award Feb. 21-27 during the indoor season.
 
In her first year of competition for the Vikings, Crocker has made an immediate impact top-10 outdoor marks in program in history in the 1500m (No. 4) and the 800m (No. 8). During the indoor season she placed 6th in the 800m at the GNAC Championships and recorded top-10 WWU program history times in the 800m and the mile.
