WAIMEA, Hawai'i – Through the first round of the fall-closing Dennis Rose Intercollegiate, the Western Washington University women's golf team is in 13
th place out of 18 teams.
WWU carded a first-round team score of 18-over-par 306, led by a 2-over-par 74 by senior
Claire Moon to tie for 22
nd place individually.
Cal State San Marcos leads the 18-team field following an 8-under-par team round of 280 to open an 11-storke lead over second-place Sonoma State.
Moon's first-round 2-over-par 74 featured three birdies to earn a place in the top 25 of a solid tournament field.
Sophomore transfer
Lauren Lee is tied for 53
rd place at 5-over-par 77, sophomore
Emma Worgum is tied for 53
rd at 5-over-par 77 and senior
Dani Bailey is tied for 61
st at 6-over-par 78.
The final round of the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate is scheduled to begin at 7:30 am HST/10:30 am PT Saturday on the Village Course at Waikoloa.
