BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- The Western Washington University Track & Field team is spread out across Southern California with the Vikings set to compete in several meets Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
This posting will serve as a hub for all results for the Vikings during the weekend.Â
WWU is set to have competitors in the following meets, including a pair of throwers crossing the border to compete in the Richmond Relays in Richmond, B.C.:

Mickenham Enters Record Book in 200 (Bryan Clay Invitational):
Sophomore
Nolan Mickenham jumped into the WWU record book in the 200m, running 21.75 for a personal-best mark to rank No. 5 in program history. Mickenham's previous outdoor PR was 21.99 set earlier this spring at the Oregon Preview. Mickenham placed 46th out of 93 runners in the event.
Weber Sets PR in Late Night 1500 (Bryan Clay Invitational):
Drew Weber set a PR in the 1500m, remaining at No. 3 in WWU history running 3:44.83 to record an NCAA Championships provisional qualifying mark. Weber bettered his previous best time in the event of 3:45.77 set at the same meet last season. Weber is now chasing the school record of 3:42.22 set by
Mac Franks in 2022.
Ledesma and Miller Run in 400m (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Marian Ledesma placed 67th (57.62) and freshman
Anna MIller was 77th (58.59) in the women's 400m out of 88 competitors at the Bryan Clay Invitational. After setting the 800m school record Friday evening, Ledesma nearly eclipsed her PR in the 400m (57.56) and Miller continued her great rookie collegiate campaign breaking her previous PR in the event of 58.99.
Davis, Wright, Crocker Form Solid 1500 Trio (Bryan Clay Invitational):
The sensational trio of
Sophie Wright (4:32.90),
Ila Davis (4:33.73) and
Mia Crocker (4:33.75) had a strong race in teh 1500m, with Davis recording the No. 9 time in program history. Crocker (4:31.56, No. 5) and Wright (4:32.59, No. 7) are already on the top-10 list in program history, just missing their personal-best marks. They are still chasing their current coach Haley O'Connor's program record of 4:29.71.
Johnson Brothers Go Sub 11-Seconds in 100m (Bryan Clay Invitational):
The Johnson brothers - senior Noah and junior Ethan - both ran the 100m at the Bryan Clay Invitational. After setting a PR on Thursday in 10.58 for the No. 3 time in program history, Noah placed 40th in a time of 10.78. Ethan set a PR in the event placing 49th in 10.89.
McDermott Wraps Up Late Night Racing in 1500 (Bryan Clay Invitational):
Sophomore
Kevin McDermott wrapped up a weekend full of racing placing 50th out of 190 runners in the men's open 1500m. After setting the school record in the 5000m Friday night, McDermott nearly reached his PR in the event running 3:49.36 for a season best, just shy of his PR of 3:48.46.
Coach O'Connor Has Strong Showing in 1500m (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Haley O'Connor put aside her coaching duties for a bit to run in the invitational portion of the women's 1500m, placing 90th in a personal-best time of 4:22.53. O'Connor was a four-year letterwinner for the Vikings ending her career in 2015, and still holds the program 1500m record of 4:29.71 set at the 2015 GNAC Outdoor Championships while finishing 2nd.
Le Gets The Day Started With Solid Time in 400Â (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Brian Le placed 43rd in the 400m at the Bryan Clay Invitational with a time of 49.03, just off his season and college PR of 48.35 set earlier this season at the Oregon Preview.
Tryon Has Solid Performance in the Javelin (Bryan Clay Invitational):
Junior
Jaydon Tryon placed 8th out of 28 competitors in the javelin competition, recording his second-best throw as a Viking with a mark of 56.83m/186-5. The only better mark by Tryon was 58.15m/190-9 at the 2022 WWU Invitational. Pending other results from the weekend, the mark moves him up to No. 2 in the GNAC this season.
Cheney Nears PR in 100 (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Caitlyn Cheney placed 53rd out of 89 runners in the 100m dash on Saturday clocking 12.37, just off her season/career PR mark of 12.22 set earlier this season.
Lagerwey and Pokinghorn Compete in the Long Jump (Bryan Clay Invitational):
WWU had a pair of competitors in the women's long jump, with junior
Matty Lagerwey placing 34th out of 51 competitors with a jump of 5.29m/17-4.25 and freshman
Hannah Polkinghorn in 40th place with a leap of 5.07m/16-7.75.
Edwards and Woodring Close in on WWU Top 10 List in  Hurdles (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Jaden Edwards ran 15.24 in the 110m hurdles to place 27th at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The mark was a season best for the Southern California native and just shy of his personal best time of 15.00 set at last year's GNAC Championships. Freshman
Maurice Woodring placed 28th in the 400m hurdles running 54.50, just shy of his season-best time of 54.24 set at the Stanford Invitational.
Greenwalt Places 23rd in Long Jump (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Ryan Greenwalt placed 23rd in the long jump with a top mark of 6.93m/22-9. Greenwalt jumped 6.97m/22-10.5 on Thursday at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. Senior
Seren Dances was a scratch from the event due to a slight injury.
Potts Completes Busy Weekend of Discus (Beach Invitational):

Katie Potts wrapped up a busy weekend of competition placing 39th in the discus at the Beach Invitational. Potts had a top mark of 41.74m/136-11 to place near the middle of the 69-athlete field.
Ramos and Miller Compete in Shot Put (Beach Invitational):

Angelo Ramos placed 54th (14.08m/46-2.5l and sophomore
Miller Campbell was just shy of a PR finishing 61st (12.83m/42.1.25) in the shot put competition at the Beach Invitational.

Cheny Runs Second-Fastest 200 Time of Career (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Caitlyn Cheney placed 74th out of 88 competitors in the 200m, recording the 2nd-fastest time in the event as a Viking in outdoor competition. Cheney clocked 25.44 to place 4th in the 10th heat.Â

McDermott Takes Down 5000m School Record (Bryan Clay Invitational):
Sophomore
Kevin McDermott broke the 12-year-old school record in the 5000m running 14:09.26, placing 7th in the fourth heat of the Open 5000m. McDermott broke the previous record of 14:10.43 set by Jordan Welling in 2011, moving up to No. 6 in GNAC history. McDermott recorded a PR in his last race running 14:11.90 at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, and improved over two seconds to set the program record today. He entered the day ranked No. 11 in the nation.
Ledesma Breaks 800m School Record (Bryan Clay Invitational):
Racing on her old track at Azusa Pacific, junior
Marian Ledesma broke the longstanding WWU outdoor record in the 800m in a time of 2:08.98, shattering the mark set by Rachael Johnson in 2011. The APU transfer fell just short of her PR set last season at the Bryan Clay Invitational with a time of 2:07.31 en route to earning Second Team All-America honors in 2022. Ledesma placed 54th out of 129 racers in the 800m Invite.
Weber Breaks Own School Record in 800m (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Drew Weber broke his own school record in the 800m running 1:49.34 to clip his old mark of 1:49.48 set last season. Weber placed 34th of 135 runners in the invitational portion of the men's 800m.
Shannon Moves up to No. 5 in WWU History in 10K (Bryan Clay Invitational):
Freshman
Meaera Shannon had a solid start to the day placing 36th in a deep field in the women's 10,000m race at the Bryan Clay Invitational, moving up to No. 5 in WWU history with a time of 36:56.79. Shannon improved her lifetime best in the event which was previously 37:23.82 set earlier this season.
Gillingham Adds to 5000m Record List (Bryan Clay Invitational):
Sophomore
Jeret Gillingham became the fifth WWU runner this season to record a PR and top-10 program mark in the 5000m, running 14:28.20 in the first heat of the open event. Gillingham's time is No. 9 in program history and was 5th among 25 runners in the heat.
Davis Sets PR in 5000m for No. 7 Time in WWU History (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Ila Davis set a PR running the 5000m in 17:08.91 to move up to No. 7 in WWU outdoor history. Davis broke her previous best of 17:13.78 while taking 1st place at the 2022 GNAC Champioships.
Campbell Moves Up WWU List in Hammer Throw (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Miller Campbell put it all together in his hammer throw series Friday recording a personal-best mark of 55.19m/181-1 to finish 9th out of 53 competitors. His top throw moved him up to No. 4 in WWU history in the hammer and is the inching towards the NCAA Championships provisional mark of 56.77m. It is also the No. 1 mark in the GNAC this season. Bloom and Henry Lead the Way in Men's Open 800 (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Jonah Bloom and
Will Henry both recorded personal-best marks and program top-10 times while finishing in the top 15 out of 141 competitors in the men's open 800m at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Bloom moved from No. 10 to No. 6 in WWU history in the event with a time of 1:51.42 to place 7th. Henry entered the top 10 in a tie for 7th place at 1:51.94 while placing 15th in the event.
Wright Sets PR for No. 6 Mark in WWU History in Open 800 (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Sophie Wright set a PR in the 800m placing 29th in the women's open 800m at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Wright ran 2:13.19 for the No. 6 time in program history. Teammate
Mia Crocker was right behind Wright finishing in 38th place at 2:13.70, just off her season/career PR of 2:13.26 (now No. 7 in WWU history).
Viking Trio Competes in Early-Morning 10K (Bryan Clay Invitational):
WWU had three early-morning competitors in the men's 10,000m race at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Junior
Andrew Oslin led the way placing 11th out of 73 competitors in a time of 29:49.40, just missing his PR of 29:41.91 set earlier this season. Sophomore
Ryan Clough was 41st in a time of 30:24.01 and sophomore school record holder
George Karamitsos placed 46th in 30:30.11.
Reeck Sets PR in 5000m (Bryan Clay Invitational):
Freshman
Ashley Reeck continued her string of late-season solid performances placing 22nd out of 100 runners in the women's open 5000m at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Reeck set a PR with a time of 17:29.47, shattering her old best time of 17:48.64 set at the UBC Open on March 10. Pending other results this weekend, Reeck's time is currently No. 1 in the GNAC this season.
Strong Second Day Lifts Lagerwey to 16th in Heptathlon (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Matty Lagerwey moved up from 22nd place to start the day to finish 16th in the heptathlon (Group D) at the Bryan Clay Invitational with 3,856 points. Lagerwey's strong second day included fourth-place finishes in the long jump (5.25m/17-2.75) and the javelin (32.73m/107-4).Â
Westfall Places 20th in Hammer Throw (Bryan Clay Invitational):

 Raine Westfall finished 20th out of 50 competitors in the hammer throw, recording a top mark of 50.38m/165-3. Westfall was just shy of her season-best mark of 50.51m/165-8 set at the UBC Open.
Potts Continues Busy Weekend in Discus Competition (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Katie Potts continued a busy weekend of competition placing 23rd out of 46 athletes in the discus at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Potts recorded a top throw of 40.36m/132-5.
Two More PRs for Polkinghorn in Sprint Events (Beach Invitational):
WWU's lone competitor at the Beach Invitational on Friday in Long Beach, freshman
Hannah Polkinghorn recorded a pair of personal-best marks in the 100m (12.67) and the 200m (25.95). Polkinghorn competed in both events Thursday at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, running 12.68 in the 100m, 26.08 in the 200m and also setting a PR in the long jump (5.20m/17-0.75).
Korta Runs in the Open 5K (Bryan Clay Invitational):
Senior
Kaleb Korta ran the 5,000m in 15:07.76 to place 82nd out of 107 runners in the open portion of the event.

Viking Sprinters Have Great Day in Long Beach (Pacific Coast Intercollegiate):

Noah Johnson moved up to No. 3 in the WWU record book running 10.58 in the 100m on Thursday at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, placing 12th out of 59 runners. The time also entered the GNAC record books tied for 9th in the event. Sophomore
Nolan Mickenham placed 15th right behind Johnson in 10.60, moving up to a tie for 4th in WWU history. Junior
Ryan Greenwalt also turned in a season-best performance placing 36th in 10.83, the second-fastest 100m race he has ran as a Viking (10.79 is PR).
Reeck Improves Time in Steeplechase (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Ashley Reeck placed 5th in the opening heat of the women's 3,000m steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University. For the second consecutive week, Reeck set a PR running 11:03.09 to better her No. 7 time in WWU history.
Miller Top-10 Time Leads Trio in 200m (Pacific Coast Intercollegiate):

Anna Miller placed 36th out of 91 competitors in the 200m, running a collegiate PR of 25.41 to move into the No. 10 spot in the WWU Outdoor record book. Sophomore

Men's 4x100 Relay (Pacific Coast Intercollegiate):
The Vikings placed 6th out of 16 teams in the men's 4x100 relay equaling the season-best time of 41.52, which is tied for 5th in WWU outdoor history. The foursome of

Noah Johnson finished 2nd in the second of three heats just behind Wisconsin's winning time of 41.09.Â
Lagerwey Completes First Day of Heptathlon (Bryan Clay Invitational):
Junior
Matty Lagerwey completed the first four events of the heptathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational with 2,277 points, which is 22nd out of 27 competitors in Group D. Lagerwey had her best performance in the shout put placing 9th with a throw of 10.15m/33-3.75. The final three events of the seven-event heptathlon is scheduled to begin at 9 am Friday.
Edwards Runs in 110m Hurdles (Pacific Coast Intercollegiate):

Jaden Edwards placed 32nd out of 37 competitors in the 110m hurdles at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. The Southern California native placed 7th in the fourth heat.
Tryon Hits Season PR in Javelin (Pacific Coast Intercollegiate):

Jaydon Tryon recorded a season-best performance in the men's javelin competition at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, placing 16th out of 24 competitors with a throw of 55.10m/180-9.Â

Hannah Polkinghorn 76th (12.68) in the 100m dash on Thursday out of 90 total competitors. Miller set a PR in the event bettering her previous best collegiate mark of 12.90 set at the PLU Open. Polkinghorn also bettered her previous PR of 13.01 set last weekend at the Emilie Mondor Invitational.

Hannah Polkinghorn placed 46th out of 61 competitors in the women's long jump at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate on Thursday. Polkinghorn set an outdoor PR in the event with a leap of 5.20m/17-0.75.

Ryan Greenwalt neared his season best mark in the long jump, placing 21st out of 49 competitors in the men's long jump at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. Greenwalt had a top leap of 6.97m/22-10.5.
Busy Day of Throwing for Potts:

Katie Potts had a busy day of competition Thursday, testing her throwing skills at both the Cal State LA Twilight Meet and the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. Potts opened the day placing 10th out of 25 competitors in the discus competition at the Cal State LA Meet with a throw of 39.91m/142-10. Potts then placed 56th in the shot put at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate with a throw of 12.07m/39-7.25. Potts also placed 49th in the discus competition Thursday at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate iwth a throw of 41.92m/137-6.

Angelo Ramos placed 49th in the men's shot put at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate with a throw of 12.65m/41-6.
Gillingham Falls Short of Season PR in Steeplechase (Bryan Clay Invitational):

Jeret Gillingham fell short of his season PR in the 3,000m steeplechase Thursday evening at the Bryan Clay Invitational, running 8:59.13 to finish 8th in the third of eight heats of the steeple and 41st overall out of 132 runners. Gillingham entered the meet ranked 5th in NCAA Division II with a season-best time of 8:55.62 set during the outdoor-opener on March 3. Senior
