COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho – The Western Washington University men's golf team got off to a great start defending its team title at the 2023 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships Monday at Coeur d'Alene Golf Resort.
The Vikings hold the lead through the first two rounds of the 54-hole tournament, battling tricky conditions throughout the 36-hole day. WWU carries a two-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round over conference rival Simon Fraser at 15-over-par 583, turning rounds of 299 (+15) in the morning and 284 (E) in the afternoon. SFU is at 17-over-par 585, with the remaining three teams well back of both the Vikings and Red Leafs.

After opening the morning as the only player to shoot 71-or-better, Lee finished the day with a 2-under-par 69 in the afternoon. He carries a two-stroke advantage into the final round ahead of
Ryan Hodgins of Simon Fraser (E, 142).
