Vikings Battle Elements for 13 Wins at SFU Invitational

WWU records 13 event wins, 33 podium finishes and sets three program top-10 marks

BURNABY, B.C. – The Western Washington University Track & Field team competed Saturday at the Emilie Mondor Invitational with 13 event wins, 33 podium finishes, three program top-10 marks and lots of rain highlighting the performances in the meet hosted by Simon Fraser University at Terry Fox Field.
 
Top-10 program times were achieved by sophomore Mia Crocker in the 800m (No. 6, 2:13.26), freshman Ashley Reeck in the 3,000m steeplechase (No. 7, 11:05.35) and freshman Mara Parksin the shot put (12.68m/41-7.25).

Top 10 Program Marks:
  • Mia Crocker – Improved No. 6 mark in 800m running 2:13.26
  • Ashley Reeck – Ran No. 7 time in Steeplechase in 11:05.35
  • Mara Parks – No. 7 Shot Put mark in program history 12.68m/41-7.25

UP NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
The Vikings are back on the road next weekend competing in several meets in Southern California, including the Bryan Clay Invitational, Cal State Twilight, Pacific Coast Invitational and Beach Invitational. 100 YEARS OF WWU T&F HISTORY
WWU is celebrating 100 years of the outdoor track & field program, with the varsity history of the program going all the way back to the first season in 1923.
