BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University women's soccer team had four players earn All-West Region honors from the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
Junior defender
Asia Hardin led the four selections as a First Team All-West Region award winner, with senior forward
Kyrsten McGuffey, junior midfielder
Morgan Manalili and sophomore midfielder
Mie Cairns all earning second-team honors.
WWU's four All-West Region selections as voted on by College Sports Communicators were second-most in the region behind six from defending national champion Point Loma. Cal Poly Pomona had three players earn all-region awards.
Hardin (West Linn, OR) added yet another award from her strong junior season also earning First Team All-GNAC honors and was a conference and all-district academic award winner. Hardin started all 23 games helping lead the Vikings to a 0.565 goals against average, the 2nd-best mark in the West Region and top 20 in the nation. In three seasons at WWU Hardin has started 68 of 69 possible games and played the full 90 minutes 66 times for 6,090 career minutes played. This is Hardin's second D2CCA All-West Region award earning second-team honors last season.
McGuffey (Port Angeles, WA) led the Vikings and the GNAC with nine goals and totaled 24 points by adding six assists. The transfer from Saint Rose appeared in 22 games, making 17 starts, and tallied five game-winning goals. McGuffey was a Second Team All-GNAC pick.
Manalili (Shoreline, WA) earned her third All-West Region award after winning first-team honors as a freshman and sophomore. The junior midfielder recorded a team-leading eight assists and also scored a pair of goals in 2024. In three collegiate seasons Manalili is climbing the WWU charts with 18 goals, 16 assists and 52 points (21st in program history). Manalili joined Hardin as a First Team All-GNAC pick.
Cairns (Sammamish, WA) earned her first all-region award after also being selected to the All-GNAC team as a first-team honoree. The midfielder started all 23 games while playing a key part of the Vikings offensive and defensive success during the 2024 season.
WWU concluded the 2024 season over the weekend with a 14-4-5 overall record advancing to the second round of the NCAA Championships. The Vikings won their 10th GNAC regular-season title doing undefeated in conference play at 11-0-3.
