TACOMA, Wash. – The Western Washington University Track & Field program wrapped up competition Saturday at the PLU Invitational.

 

Over the course of the two-day meet, the Vikings captured 43 top three finishes and 17 event wins.

 

Saturday's results were highlighted by sophomore javelin thrower Jakob Braunstein winning the men's javelin competition with an NCAA II provisional qualifying mark of 61.71m/202-5, a mark that ranks No. 3 in the nation. Braunstein's mark is just outside the WWU all-time top 10.

 

The Vikings men's throwers swept the top spot in every event with freshman Noah Turner winning the shot put (15.11m/49-7), freshman Liam Wall winning the discus (44.19m/145-0) and junior Miller Campbell taking the top spot in the hammer throw (53.26m/174-9).

 

Western's women throwers were equally as impressive in Saturday's competition with junior Katie Potts leading the way as a double winner in the shot put (12.90m/42-4) and discus (44.51m/146-0).
