BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University Athletics and the Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee will host a special Women's History Month forum on Tuesday, April 16 at 6:30 pm.

The event is title Women's Sports Through Title IX: Where Did We Start, Where Are We Now and Where Are We Going. Special guests include three WWU Athletics Hall of Famers Lynda Goodrich (Class of '66), Terri McMahan (Class of '77) and Jo Metzger-Levin (Class of '81). "This is a powerful group of women's trailblazers that will provide great insight into the history and future of Title IX and women's sports," said WWU head women's basketball coach Carmen Dolfo, a member of the JEDI committee. "This is a valuable opportunity for all our current student-athletes to hear from those that helped paved the way, but also a great event that is open to everyone in the community."

Topics to be discussed during the town hall type forum include personal recollections and history of WWU and women's sports, thoughts on the current state of women's sports and what the future for women's sports looks like at WWU, in NCAA Division II, across the NCAA and nationally and globally.

The event will also be taped and available for replay on the WWU Athletics YouTube page shortly after the event.
