RENTON, Wash. – One of the oldest standings records in Western Washington University Track & Field history was shattered Friday in the women's shot put to highlight the Vikings many solid performances at the Doris Heritage Invitational at Renton Memorial Stadium.

Junior Katie Potts recorded a personal-best throw of 13.77m/45-2.25 in the shot put to break the record of 13.56m/44-6 originally set by Sherie Schroeder in 1998. Potts won both the shot put and discus competition, setting a season-best mark of 46.24m/151-8 in the discus to record a national provisional qualifying mark.
