BELLINGHAM, Wash. – For the third consecutive week the Western Washington University men's soccer team has been represented by a conference Player of the Week.

Following offensive awards from Joar Tidblom and Jose Perez in previous weeks, junior goalkeeper Charlie Dyer earned the GNAC Defensive Player of the Week for his standout performance in a 1-0-1 week in conference play.

Dyer came through in a big way in the Vikings 1-0 triumph over No. 12 Seattle Pacific on Saturday, collecting his third clean sheet of the season. The junior made a career-high-tying six saves in a match that had no margin for error, as he faced a season-high 17 shots from the Falcons. Dyer lowered his goals-against average on the season to 1.18 and he has started 11 of 12 matches this fall.

"Charlie has had a very good season and has been instrumental in the success we are having as of late," said WWU head coach Greg Brisbon. "His shot-stopping ability and leadership has kept us in games so we can get results that we need to be where we are at this point in the season."

The Vikings remained unbeaten in GNAC play at 3-0-1 to gain sole possession of first place in the table with 10 points through the first two weeks of the league slate. WWU is unbeaten over its last six games going 5-0-1, turning a 0-4-2 start to the season into a 5-4-3 overall record.

Western has one game this week hosting border rival Simon Fraser Saturday night in a 7 pm game at Harrington Field. The complete 2025 schedule can be viewed online via wwuvikings.com/25_MSOC.
