PUEBLO, Colo. – The Western Washington University women's golf team placed 12th in a deep field at the NCAA DII Regional Preview Invite held Monday-Tuesday at Pueblo Country Club.

 

The Vikings finished the two-day, 36-hole tournament with a team score of 57-over-par 625. WWU was tied for 4th place following the opening day of the tournament hosted by Colorado State-Pueblo. Defending national champion Dallas Baptist won the tournament field by 26 strokes at 16-over-par 584 ahead of second place Cal State LA (+42, 610).

 

Outside of the sizeable victory by DBU, the tournament field from second through 12th place was spanned 15 strokes. 

 

Western was led by senior Lauren F. Lee, earned a solid top 15 finish tying for 12th place at 9-over-par 151 turning in rounds of 74 (+3) and 77 (+6) on the par 71 layout. Freshman Carly Ikei also logged a top 20 finish at 11-over-par 153 (76-77) to tie for 19th place.

 

Madison Ude of DBU won individual medalist honors finishing even-par 142 (72-70) for a two-stroke victory over Avery Foster of Cal State San Marcos (+2, 144).

 

The tournament served as a preview for the 2026 NCAA II West Regional held May 4-6 at the same venue.

The Vikings close out the fall portion of the 2025-26 schedule October 27-28 at the East Bay Fall Tournament at Stonebrae Country Club in Hayward, California. WWU will play three fall tournaments and five in the spring leading up to the GNAC Championships.
