BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University junior
Conrad Brown has earned the GNAC Golfer of the Week award following his winning performance at the Otter Invitational.
Brown (Burlington, WA) recorded three consistent rounds of par-or-better going 71 (-1), 72 (E) and 71 (-1) to finish the 54-hole tournament tied with Marius Dosiere of Colorado State-Pueblo at 2-under-par 214. Brown won a scorecard playoff for holes 18-17 going birdie/par to earn the official victory, the first by a Viking since current assistant coach
David Sibbett won the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational last April.
The junior finished his fall season as the GNAC average scoring leader at 70.3, recording 11 of 12 rounds of par or better.
The award is the third of Brown's career, with the first two coming during his freshman season in 2021-22. His three career GNAC weekly awards are tied for 9th in program history.
"Conrad is an exceptional ball striker, and you don't see many weaknesses in his game," said WWU Director of Golf
Luke Bennett. "He is doing a better job of staying patient, compared to his younger years, and understanding the quality and value of a par. On a course like he played at the Otter Invitational, pars are going to do wonders. His experience and staying patient throughout the round helped him be a contender and ultimately earn the win."
