BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University women's soccer team is dancing once again.
For the 14th time in program history and 12th in the last 13 seasons, WWU was selected to play in the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships. The two-time national champion Vikings were announced as the No. 1 seed in the West Region, claiming one of the eight top seeds across the nation for the 56-team single-elimination tournament.
Earning its fifth No. 1 seed in program history, the Vikings open their quest for a third national title Saturday at 3 pm at Harrington Field, facing the winner of Thursday's No. 4 seed Azusa Pacific vs. No. 5 Point Loma first round game. This marks the ninth time Western will host NCAA Championship games in Bellingham and the eighth time to host at Harrington Field since the facility opened in 2014.
The Vikings earned one of four at-large berths in the seven-team West Region after winning the GNAC regular season title with an overall record of 14-1-6 and undefeated conference mark of 11-0-3. WWU carries an 18-game unbeaten streak (14-0-4) into the NCAA Championships.

The other side of the West Region bracket features two games on Friday and one on Sunday in Pomona, California, with No. 2 seed Cal Poly Pomona serving as the four-team bracket host. Pomona faces No. 7 Cal Poly Humboldt and No. 3 Simon Fraser takes on No. 6 Western Oregon in a battle of CCAA and GNAC teams. The winner of the Bellingham and Pomona brackets meet in the West Regional Final slated for the weekend of Nov. 29-30 at the site of the highest remaining seed.
The national quarterfinal against the winner of the South Central Region is slated for Saturday, December 6 at the site of the highest-seeded remaining South Central Region team. The NCAA Division II National Championships (Final Four) will be held in conjunction with the men's soccer championship December 11-13 at Switchbacks FC Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Vikings will be making their 14th appearance in the NCAA Division II Championships and 12th in the last 13 seasons. WWU is the two-time NCAA II National Champion, winning titles in 2016 and 2022, while also playing in the national championship game in 2019. Western is 5-0 all-time in national quarterfinal games and 3-2 in national semifinal contests. The program owns an all-time 29-10-1 record in NCAA Championships play, winning at least one game in 11 of 13 trips to the NCAA postseason. WWU was crowned national champion in 2016 with a 24-0-1 record, capped by a 3-2 victory over Grand Valley State in Kansas City, Missouri, and earned a second star with a 2-1 win over West Chester to cap the 2022 season in Seattle.

This marks the ninth time Western will host NCAA Championship games in Bellingham and the eighth time to host at Harrington Field since the facility opened in 2014. In 40 career NCAA Championship matches, WWU has played 16 in Bellingham between Orca Field at Whatcom Community College (4 games) and Harrington Field (12 games). The Vikings own an all-time 100-7-10 (.897) record at Harrington Field, including a 13-2-0 record in postseason play, hosting NCAA games in 2014 (0-1-0), 2015 (3-0-0), 2016 (1-0-0), 2017 (1-0-0), 2019 (2-0-0), 2021 (1-0-0) and 2022 (3-0-0), and GNAC Championships games in 2016 (1-0-0) and 2021 (1-1-0). Western was 8-0-1 at Harrington Field during the 2025 regular season.

GNAC REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONS
The Vikings won their 11th GNAC regular-season title to earn the No. 1 seed in the GNAC Championships, going undefeated in league play with an 11-0-3 record to claim back-to-back titles. WWU added to titles won in 2024, 2022, 2018-19, 2012-16 and 2008 to hold the GNAC record for most regular-season titles (SPU – 10). The Vikings have finished first or second in the final GNAC table in each of the last 13 seasons dating back to 2012.
