BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University outside hitter duo of
Devyn Oestreich and
Delaney Speer have earned All-West Region honors.
The Vikings leading offensive weapons both earned First Team AVCA All-West Region honors via coaches voting and Oestreich was voted by West Region sports information directors as a first team selection to the D2CCA team.
"Dev and D have been a steady force for us all year as complete players," said WWU head coach
Diane Flick-Williams. "They carry a load offensively, defensively and on serve-receive. I am sure they would give much of the credit to their team and that is also what makes them such great and special players."
Oestreich (Olympia, WA/Capital HS) added consensus First Team All-West Region honors to her lengthy awards list from the 2025 season that also includes being selected as the GNAC Player of the Year and unanimous First Team All-GNAC. She has recorded a double-double (kills/digs) in 18 of 25 matches and heads into the NCAA Tournament averaging team-best marks with 3.90 kills, 3.88 digs and 4.65 points per set. She is also among the region leaders averaging 0.48 service aces per set (44 aces) and has a .288 attack percentage.
"Devyn led our conference's hitters in virtually every category which is a testament to her constant pursuit to learn and get better," added Flick-Williams.
Speer (Maple Valley, WA/Tahoma HS) has started all 25 matches totaling 18 double-doubles. The junior ranks 4th in the GNAC averaging 3.59 kills per set, 13th with 3.38 digs per set and tied for 12th with 30 service aces. Speer also earned unanimous First Team All-GNAC honors.
"Delaney's competitiveness makes her the player she is as she uses it to challenge herself in skill acquisition and game strategy," said Flick-Williams.
The Vikings take their 19-6 overall record into the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships as the No. 6 seed, facing No. 3 Fresno Pacific in the regional quarterfinal tomorrow (Thursday, December 4) in San Diego, California.
