BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Five members of the Western Washington University men's soccer team have been selected to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District Teams for NCAA Division II.
Western's award winners were recognized for their strong performances as student-athletes in the classroom and in competition. In addition to the five academic all-district awards, WWU had 11 student-athletes earn GNAC All-Academic acclaim.
Viking award winners include three-time honorees Albin Jonsson and Joar Tidblom, and two-time award winner Sebastiano Silvetti. Senior defenders Krubelle Tesfaye and Diego Lopez both earned the award for the first time.
To earn this recognition for the fall sports, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic eligibility, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above in their careers, as well as either play in 90% of their team's games or start in 66% of the team's contests during the current season. More information on criteria can be found here.
Under the guidance of head coach Greg Brisbon, the program has placed at least 10 players on the GNAC All-Academic team in each of the last nine years, combining for 104 academic all-conference honors during this stretch beginning in 2017.
The Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
