IRVINE, Calif. – Western Washington University sophomore third baseman
Maleah Andrews earned a spot on the CUI Kickoff Classic All-Tournament Team.
Andrews was one of 25 selections to the all-tournament team and the lone player from the GNAC to earn the honor from the 23-team season-opening tournament.
The sophomore led the Vikings at the plate batting .533 going 8-for-15 with four doubles, one home run, four RBI and four walks. She recorded a hit in four of the Vikings five games for a .632 on-base percentage and 1.000 slugging percentage.
Starting all 69 possible games in two seasons as a Viking, Andrews has a career batting average of .366 (82-for-224) with 22 doubles, 4 triples, 9 home runs and 38 RBI (.468 OBP, .621 SLG).
Ranked No. 2 nationally to open the season after earning national runner-up honors in 2024, the Vikings had a slow start to the season going 1-4 at the CUI Kickoff Classic. Western is back in action February 14-16 with six games in Hawai'i against Chaminade, Hawai'i Hilo and Hawai'i Pacific.
