VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Western Washington University Track & Field team wrapped up its spring break competition Sunday at the UBC Open.
WWU competed in the two-day meet on the Rashpal Dhillon Track and Field Oval on the UBC campus in Vancouver. The Vikings competed against student-athletes from UBC, Simon Fraser, Seattle Pacific and several Canadian club programs.
Senior
Katie Potts won the discus on Sunday with a throw of 44.42m/145-9 after competing Thursday and Friday in Texas. Sophomore
Kora Cook returned to outdoor action winning the high jump clearing 1.60m/5-3. Freshman
Rylee Andrews placed 2nd in the shot put with a PR mark of 13.13m/43-1 to record the 6th-best mark in program history.
Sophomore
Sydney Mohlman placed 2nd in the pole vault clearing 3.65m/11-11.75, just missing her outdoor PR of 3.67m/12-0.5.
Junior
Jonah Bloom was 2nd in the 1500m with a time of 3:58.12, sophomore
Noah Turner earned runner-up in the discus with a mark of 43.33m/142-2), junior
Kurt Montero placed 2nd in the pole vault clearing 4.36m/14-3.5) and
Calvin Gutierrez won the hammer throw with a mark of 50.76m/166-6).

HISTORY IN THE MAKING
The Vikings swept the team titles at the 2025 GNAC Indoor Championships earning the title of conference indoor champions for the second consecutive season. Dating back to the 2022 calendar year, the WWU men have won nine of 10 possible titles in cross country, indoor and outdoor, while the women have combined for seven of 10 titles. The Western track & field and cross country program has a current string of 12 consecutive team titles across men's and women's dating back to the 2023 outdoor championships.
