BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University senior midfielder
Morgan Manalili was selected as the GNAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week following the Vikings pair of wins at Harrington Field.
Manalili (Shoreline, WA/Shorecrest HS) played a part in all six goals scored by the Vikings in the 4-1 win over Cal State Monterey Bay and 2-1 over Cal State East Bay. This marks the third career GNAC Player of the Week award for Manalili, tying for fifth-most in program history.
In the 4-1 win over Cal State Monterey Bay, Manalili recorded a hat trick scoring goals in the opening minute, seventh minute and 51st minute while also adding an assist for the seven-point individual effort. In the 2-1 victory over East Bay, Manalili assisted on the opening goal by
Emily Holdridge and sent a cross into the box that was redirected for a CSUEB own goal.
For the season Manalili leads the conference with 11 points (4 goals, 3 assists) and is tied for the league lead in goals scored. In 74 career games, Manalili has scored 22 goals and added 19 assists for 63 total points. She ranks 15th in points, tied for 16th in goals and tied for 10th in assists in the program record book.
The Vikings (2-1-2) open the 14-game GNAC schedule this week with road games at Northwest Nazarene on Thursday (7 pm MT) and at Central Washington on Saturday (11 am).
