BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University volleyball team swept the weekly GNAC awards with juniors Delaney Speer and Emily Vossenkuhl taking home the hardware after their standout performances.

WWU recorded home conference victories over Montana State Billings (3-0) and Seattle Pacific (3-1) to improve to 10-1 on the season and remain perfect at 4-0 in GNAC play. The Vikings have won their last 10 matches to rise into the national AVCA top 25 poll.

Speer (Maple Valley, WA/Tahoma HS) earned GNAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and Vossenkuhl (Ridgefield, WA) won Defensive Player of the Week honors. It was the first conference weekly award for both players.

Speer was an offensive force for the Vikings combining to average 5.00 kills per set on a .382 attack percentage, tallying 35 total kills. She also averaged 3.57 digs per set and totaled 37.5 points. In the three-set win over MSUB on Thursday she recorded an 18-kill, 11-dig double-double while hitting .531 and followed that with another double-double of 17 kills and 14 digs. For the season the junior is averaging 3.64 kills per set to rank 3rd in the GNAC, is 10th with a .276 hitting percentage and 14th averaging 3.24 digs per set.

"Delaney had yet another great weekend in all facets of the game," said WWU head coach Diane Flick-Williams. "She is such a competitor when it comes to improving her skillset and she stays the course working towards the next level."

Vossenkuhl was a menace at the net for opposing teams recording 14 blocks to average 2.00 blocks per set. Against MSUB she had five total blocks and in the SPU victory equaled her career best with 9.0 blocks. For the season Vossenkuhl ranks among the GNAC leaders averaging 1.14 blocks per set (7th) and is 4th with a .325 hitting percentage (1.50 kills/set).

"Voss's instinct on the block is one of the best I have ever seen. She has such a nose for the ball and can fly to get there," added Flick-Williams. "While she made some big moves to get the stats in the box score, it really is the touches that don't get the stats that are really impressive."

Speer and Vossenkuhl join teammate Devyn Oestreich as GNAC Player of the Week award winners this season, with Oestreich winning the offensive honor twice so far in 2025.
