BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Senior
Lauren F. Lee opened the 2025-26 season right where she left off from her All-America finish last season, earning GNAC Golfer of the Week honors from the season-opening tournament.
Lee tied for 2nd place in the 67-player field at the SMU Grisham Memorial Shootout with a 1-over-par 145 in the 36-hole tournament. Lee tied with freshman teammate
Carly Ikei, but was awarded the weekly conference honor for her final round 4-under-par 68 to tie her career-low round and the lowest score of the two-day tournament.
The senior has picked up where her record-breaking junior season left off with a 4-under-par 68 featuring five birdies for the lowest individual round of the tournament in the second round. Lee has recorded a round of par-or-better in six of her last seven rounds dating back to the West Regional Championship on the way to earning
honorable mention All-America honors.
With three career GNAC Golfer of the Week awards, Lee is tied for 5th in program history for conference weekly awards.
WWU opened the season placing 2nd at the Grisham Memorial Shootout with a two-round score of 19-over-par 291. Tuesday's final round featured a 3-over-par 291 for the lowest team score in a round since 2015.
The Vikings return to fall tournament action October 13-14 at the West Regional Preview in Pueblo, Colorado.
