BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University volleyball team had another standout season on the court and in the classroom in 2025, punctuated by three student-athletes earning Academic All-District honors as recognized by Collegiate Sports Communicators.
Seniors
Adele Holland and
Abby May, along with junior
Finnley Claeys, were part of a group of 26 players from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference to earn the honor.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District program student-athletes must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and compete in 90% or start 66% of their team's matches during the season.
Holland became the volleyball student-athlete in GNAC history to earn three Academic All-District honors, joining former Viking Chloe Roetcisoender (2019, 2021-22) as the only Vikings to earn a trio of the awards. Holland finished her career appearing in 93 matches ranking 13th in program history with 1,801 assists. She graduated from WWU in December with a degree in Business Administration.
May became a two-time Academic All-District award winner nearing her degree in accounting and Claeys earned her first district award as a mathematics major.
The Vikings completed the 2025 season with a 19-7 overall record and 13-5 mark in GNAC play. WWU advanced to the NCAA Division II Championships as the No. 6 seed in the West Region.
