BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The basketball season is in full swing and indoor track & field opens the 2026 portion of its schedule this week highlighting all the events in WWU Athletics.
 
The women's basketball team returns to WECU Court in Carver Gym with home games Thursday (7 pm) and Saturday (5 pm) against the Alaska schools in GNAC play. Thursday's game against UAF will be Pink Night in Carver Gym and Throwdown Thursday as the Vikings take on the Nanooks. In her 35th season as head coach of the Vikings, Carmen Dolfo will coach in her 1,000th career game on Thursday. WWU enters the game with a 12-5 overall record and is tied for 3rd in the GNAC standings with a 4-2 league record. Senior forward Olivia Hodges leads the team and ranks 5th in the GNAC averaging 16.9 points per game and ranks 2nd nationally averaging 12.4 rebounds per game and with 11 double-doubles.
 
The men's hoops team returns to the road facing No. 17 Saint Martin's on Thursday (7 pm) and Western Oregon on Saturday (4:15 pm) in GNAC games. WWU is coming off a home split defeating Seattle Pacific 71-66 and narrowly falling to Montana State Billings 94-92. Sophomore Aidan Rice (18.5 points/game) and junior Nehemiah Pollard (16.6 points/game) lead the Vikings in scoring. WWU is 8-9 overall and tied for 8th place in the GNAC with a 2-4 conference record.
 
The track & field program resumes the indoor schedule competing in the two-day UW Preview on Friday and Saturday at Dempsey Indoor in Seattle. WWU is scheduled to send a full squad of competitors to the University of Washington campus for the meet. Through the first two indoor competitions of the 2025-26 season, WWU has set a pair of school records and made 22 entries into the program indoor record book.

Please note that nearly all Saturday home basketball games the remainder of the season feature a 5 pm tip-off. We hope this allows for more families and community members to come out and support our teams in GNAC games in home games in Carver Gym.
